Primeval Labs have been killing it with their products in the last year. They’ve produced some great products and the expectations are high from any new supplement they release. The EAA Max Energy is the new version of the original EAA Max, an intra workout amino formula which we reviewed here. This version adds energy boosting ingredients to the mix to make this product a coffee or even pre workout replacement.
The label is is the exact same as the EAA Max, just with the addition of a Stimulant Blend which is defined as a “scientifically-formulated matrix of caffeine” by Primeval Labs. The actual ingredients of this blend aren’t mentioned though.
The label starts off with mentioning the 10 calories per serving, 3g carbs, 17mg Magnesium, 39mg Sodium and 52mg Potassium. Then we get to the more interesting part:
286mg Stimulant Blend – As we mentioned several times, the EAA Max Energy looks to provide you not only your usual BCAAs and EAAs, but to give you an energy boost that will make you question the use of a pre workout. Although the ingredients are not detailed, we’d take Primeval Labs’ word and treat this matrix as 286mg of Caffeine, and that is quite the dose. It’s the kind of dose you’d see in some of the more intense pre workouts out there and that is a good sign of what’s to come.
From here and until the end of the label, everything stayed the same as EAA Max. 2:1:1 BCAAs ( 2500mg L-Leucine, 1250mg L-Isoleucine and 1250mg L-Valine), EAAs (300mg L-Lysine Hydrochloride, 225mg L-Theonine, 200mg L-Phenylalanine , 50mg L-Trytophan, 25mg L-Histidine and 20mg L-Methionine) and lastly 2000mg Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin (HBCD, a very popular intra workout carbohydrate – Check out the BIOS3 intracell 7 review (with 20g of this ingredient) Here. and D-Ribose 500mg (which is used to replenish ATP after exercise).
The Label’s Bottom Line- From a solid supplement in the EAA Max, we get an improved and maybe even better product with the EAA Max Energy. We can completely see this one used as a pre workout replacement due to its many other advantages as an intra workout.
Best Flavors & Mixability – Currently, the EAA Max energy is available in only 2 flavors, Island Punch and Pink Lemonade. Just like with the EAA Max, we tried the Pink Lemonade and it was great. It also mixes really well, with very little foam but nothing too outrageous.
Effectiveness – Since the EAA Max Energy already has stimulants in it, we tried using it without the addition of a pre workout. The results were surprising. We really felt like we used a pre workout, although not a very potent one, but the effects were there. You could really use this one as a two-in-one product as a pre workout and BCAA for light workouts or cardio.
Priced at $39.99 for a 30 serving tub, the EAA Max Energy hasn’t changed in price. It’s still pretty high and we already mentioned that no intra workout should go for this price. But when you can get your hands on a BOGO deal (which you can, like, right now) the price for a 30 serv tub drops to $19.99 which is reasonable.
Primeval Labs keep doing what they have done for the past year, and that’s doing a great job making great supplements, and the EAA Max Energy is no exception. It can easily get two jobs done and if you get it for the right price you have another strong Amino Energy product to add to your arsenal.
