The spanking new MYPROTEIN Protein Popcorn is the newest addition to the company’s protein snack line. WOW, stop right there! Were you going to say that this product looks EXACTLY like the super popular (and amazing) ICON MEALS protein popcorn? Well it does! Not only does the packaging looks identical (even the label is literally a copy-paste), the flavors are exactly the same. The blunt similarities can only mean one thing – ICON MEALS is manufacturing the MP Protein popcorn! So, with that, we already know quite a lot but still we’ll take you to a full & unbiased review of the MYPROTEIN Protein Popcorn.
SO WHAT’S IN IT?
Each bag on the MYPROTEIN Protein Popcorn comes with 4 servings of 1 cup (60g). Now, note that the calories and macros change depending on the flavor. The label below belongs to the FREEDOM flavor. The other flavors except Vanilla Peanut Butter (with 200 calories per cup) share the same label.
Protein Source (10g) : Non-Fat Milk, Sweet Dairy Whey, Lactose, Milk Fat, Protein Powder
Well, as you can see this is not your ‘protein powder’ based protein snack. This is mostly milk protein based. Which means it will digest like milk.
Carbohydrate Sources (22g): Popcorn, sugar, corn syrup, Chocolate, Caramel
Yeah, you read it correctly – mostly sugars…which shows in the label (15g out of 22g)
Fat Sources (3g): Butter, Palm Oil, Buttermilk
And again, not exactly your list of ‘good food…’ but at the end of the day only 3g.

The Label’s Bottom Line
This is not exactly your low carb low calorie snack. Don’t get us wrong, at 150 calories per cup is not that bad and matches what you would get from your average flavored popcorn. And, you are getting the added benefit of 10g of protein which usually you would get ZERO of in an off the shelf popcorn. But still lots of sugar…

MYPROTIEN Protein Popcorn comes in 4 flavors: FREEDOM, Vanilla PB, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt, Cinnamon Crunch. We tasted all of them and well, they are all AMAZING! Yeah, all this sugar is put into good use! Depending on what your ‘poison’ is when it comes to sweet stuff, you’ll prefer a different flavor. Being Freedom people ourselves, we loved the FREEDOM flavor.
MYPROTEIN PROTEIN POPCORN PRICE
MYPROTEIN launched its protein popcorn at $9,99 per bag, which matches the selling price for ICON MEALS popcorn. Now, This is probably where a lot us MYPROTEIN fans will start looking for the next big sale that will drop the price on these babies. MYPROTEIN is known for driving aggressive deals and promotions (and you know that we are the best at finding them!), so we expect big things on this department!
THE TAKEAWAY
MYPROTEIN didn’t really invent anything new here. As we said at the start of this post, this is basically a repacked ICON MEALS popcorn. That is actually great news. The ICON MEALS popcorn is delicious. And though not exactly a calorie efficient snack, it beats candy! And, probably the best news here for us fitness buffs is that we can trust MYPROTEIN to make this product more affordable.
