Gorilla Mode Pre Workout is a pre workout supplement from the soaring company Gorilla Mind. This brand is highly endorsed and run by Derek from the YouTube channel ‘More Plates More Dates.’
So we had to check out what all the hype was about.
In this Gorilla Mode Pre Workout Review, we will be looking at everything from the experience to the ingredients to the side effects. And most importantly, is it worth the money and the hype?
I would recommend checking out a better alternative – God of Rage Pre Workout.
But if you still want to purchase Gorilla Mode, you can get it at Amazon.
First thing’s first, I tried the Mango Peach flavor. I would categorize it as tolerable. It is not decent, but drinkable. Either way, the flavor does not really matter.
As for the pre workout itself, Gorilla Mode simply did not live up to the hype for me. This is an everyday pre workout for beginners at best.
It kicked in about 10-15 minutes after I took it. The energy came through with a nice boost.
The pumps and focus were solid. Nothing crazy by any means. Which is extremely disappointing considering its promise and label. Proving why we always say LABELS ARE JUST LABELS.
There was just no sense of urgency with Gorilla Mode. I would not think it was a pre workout but actually a nootropic. Which is how I ended up using it.
All things considered, I would not suggest buying this pre workout. It does not do what it is meant to do. On top of being extremely expensive.
If anything, Gorilla Mode is geared towards beginners or pre workout users who do not enjoy the effects of Beta Alanine. But even then, I am sure there are some better options.
Gorilla Mode has a pretty typical pre workout label. Including ingredients like Caffeine, L-Citrulline, and Betaine Anhydrous.
Now, it says 40 servings on the label. But if you take 1 scoop, this pre workout is going to be severely under-dosed. So I do not fully understand why they advertise it that way.
Caffeine Anhydrous – 350 mg
We start with a stimulant that everyone should know: Caffeine Anhydrous. This is going to provide the energy in a supplement. For a Stim Junkie Pre Workout, we usually aim for 400-500 mg of caffeine.
L-Citrulline – 9 g
Moreover, 9 grams is on the higher end for L-Citrulline. L-Citrulline will give you those swelling pumps.
Betaine Anhydrous – 2500 mg
Next, Betaine Anhydrous has been shown to increase endurance and hydration during your workout. 2500 mg is a decent dose to get a solid power output.
Kanna – 500 mg
Kanna is an ingredient most people would not recognize if they are new to the pre workout game. This is there for the cognitive benefits and oftentimes to chill you down.
Creatine monohydrate – 5 g
Creatine Monohydrate is there to enhance performance and help with recovery post-workout.
GlycerPump – 3 g
Paired with L-Citrulline, this is a decent pump matrix. Furthermore, three grams is slightly under-dosed if you really want to feel its full effects.
L-Tyrosine – 1500 mg
This is another focus ingredient. It has become increasingly popular along the years.
Agmatine Sulfate – 1 g
Agmatine Sulfate is another common ingredient that will act as an overarching ingredient. Absorption and the likes.
Huperzine – 400 mcg
Then, Huperzine is going to add to the alertness and focus package in Gorilla Mode Pre Workout.
Bioperine – 10 mg
Lastly, we have Bioperine which is the most accepted absorption ingredient.
Is Gorilla Mode a good pre workout?
In my opinion, Gorilla Mode is not that great of a pre workout. Could it be used by beginners? Sure. Would I use it if am anything other than that? No.
How much caffeine is in Gorilla Mode Pre Workout?
At 2 scoops (which I would recommend if you are taking Gorilla Mode), it has 350 mg of Caffeine. If you are taking 1 scoop for some reason, you will be getting 175 mg.
Is Gorilla Mode FDA Approved?
Essentially no pre workout is FDA Approved because of the ingredients they have. But that is not to say that they are dangerous in any way. You should be fine, especially with something small like Gorilla Mode Pre Workout.
Is Gorilla Mode illegal?
No, Gorilla Mode is completely legal. It does not have, nor feel like it has, anything that would make it an illegal pre workout.
First, a frontrunner for the best DMAA pre workout of 2021. Crack Pre Workout rose to the top with 120 mg DMAA. Similarly, the Dark Labs pre workout dials you in for the whole of your gym session and the pumps are insane.
Second, Excelsior has become a somewhat staple in the pre workout game. Known for its tunnel vision focus and enhanced energy. If you like hardcore pre workouts, you would want to get your hands on this.
Third, one of my absolute favorite pre workouts of all time, Assassin is a super hard-hitter. While it does not have DMAA or any other ingredients us Stim Junkies love, this pre workout is one of the most well-made pre workouts I have ever tried.
