THE PROMISE
AllMax Nutrition, Canada’s largest supplement company, gives us their “amino charged energy drink” Amino:Cuts. This product sits on the cross road of BCAA, Intra Workout, and a fat burner. Yeah, that’s a big cross road and in this Amino Cuts Review we will try to understand does it deliver.
What’s in it and Why
The label is completely transparent, with nothing left for the imagination (which we prefer). It contains quite a list of ingredients, but honestly, most of them are not that important. We’re here to see Energy, Fat burning and BCAA related ingredients, and that’s what we’ll focus on.
500mg of CLA. CLA has been researched for a while and the results were mixed until recently. Is was indeed found to help achieve toned and muscular appearance by weight training, but in these studies the dose of CLA that was used was around 6-9g, so even if it does work, the dose is way off.
127mg of Natural Caffeine standardized to 98% caffeine which total at 125mg caffeine per serving. Low for a pre workout, but good for an energy kick.
125mg of Green Coffee, which helps with lowering blood pressure and blood sugar levels in the body.
2g of Taurine, which expands your cells by helping the muscle cell itself hold more water, increasing cell volume. That results in higher rate of protein synthesis.
1.5g EAA & 725mg BCAAs. The normal dose you’d see in a BCAA product is 5g, so not really sure why AllMax went really low on the dose here. There’s a bunch of other aminos, but they aren’t that important from a BCAA formula standpoint.
The Label’s Bottom Line –
The concept it is great, the list of ingredients is solid, yet what holds this product behind is the under dosing of several critical ingredients. To solve the problem you will need to double scoop it, which will make it way more effective but then just make sure you get it on a great deal!
HANDS ON EXPERIENCE
Since it is under dosed, we had to go for 2 scoops. Just to try and squeeze some results from the A:Cuts.
Effectiveness – The effects were there. Nothing too big since we had our fair share of experience with more hardcore supplements. The energy boost was minor and the mental boost was just not there.
VALUE FOR MONEY & DEAL HISTORY
You can find the A:Cuts for a pretty good price of $19.99 for a 30 serving tub. That is a great price, especially if you just want to give it a try and see if it work well on you. Also, make sure you check out price comparison and deals pages for this product as we have seen it as low as $10 per tub, which at that price we would say it is totally worth it (double scoop!)
FINAL VERDICT
A:Cuts by AllMax Nutrition has every attribute to be an amazing product. Bringing in 3 products in 1. This could be your ultimate fasted cardio pre workout when cutting for example. The only thing we didn’t like was the underdosing of some of the ingredients, which could take care of itself if you are double scooping.
